In Sri Lanka, we made effective use of trains and busses to see a large percentage of the island in a relatively small period of time. The trip initially took us from Colombo to Kandy by train (you can read about this leg here). Next we hired a driver to tour the Cultural Triangle (the detailed story of this journey can be found here). After returning to Kandy we took the train to Adam’s Peak for a night climb (the story links here), before moving on through Nuwara Elyia and Ella to Arugam Bay (Arugam Bay, Surfing Slum). Finally, we bussed our way along the coast past Mirissa and Galle before returning to Colombo for the flight home.
